The turkish coast stretches more than 8000 km, that´s about 4.700 nm from the eastern part of the Black sea to the eastern part in the mediterranean on the syrian border. The most beautiful sailing area with a very long and calm season, steady winds, thousands of bays and small harbours, some international touristical top-spots like Bodrum or Marmaris and Antalya and the variety of switching quickly between Turkey with it´s "asian" mentality and lifestyle to the greek islands with "european" atmosphere, is the area between Izmir in the eastern aegaean sea, and Antalya in the southeast on the mediterranean sea. The center of sailing activities is between Bodrum, Marmaris and Goecek/Fethiye and the beaches of Patara and the island of Kekova with it´s sunken city. See an overview here and a view of the main summerly winds here |
